I am trying 2 ornamental basils on top of the Aerogarden: Siam Queen which has a licorice-like flavor and is used mainly in Thai dishes. I am also trying Red Rubin which will have all purple leaves. I am mainly growing these basils because they are very showy. Being able to eat them just happens to be a bonus :)
Siam Queen basil looks like this - full grown |
Red Rubin will look like this. Gorgeous! |
Can we eat these in pasta?
ReplyDeleteThe flowery one has a different flavor, like for Thai dishes, but I believe the purple one would be closer to Italian basil for pasta dishes.
