Salad greens

The salad greens sprouted quickly and are very happy.

Can you see the chive sprout?

Last time I had bad luck with chives and didn't get any to grow.  This time I see 2 sprouts starting, maybe 3.

Pepper harvest

2 lovely green peppers that I harvested from my pepper plants outside, the ones that I had started from seed under the Aerogarden lights.

I like cutting these up, throwing in some cherry tomatoes and Italian dressing, and packing the refreshing salad in my lunchbox.

Tomatoes and sweet potatoes

Here are the 2 aerogarden tomato plants.  I know - doesn't
look "pretty" - I made a homemade tomato cage from 2
trellises and some string.  They are still happy though and
keep producing tomatoes!

Sweet potato patch, loving the sand!

Plumbago

The plumbago are finally surrounding the tree properly, although it took a few months for them to get the hang of it!

Eggplant

It was a great day for some breaded eggplant!  We made short work of that!  :)

Beautiful inside, too!  I cut it this way instead of in
circles because these are Ichiban eggplants.  They are not
as fat as regular eggplants, so circle pieces would have
been pretty small.

Salad greens

Well I cleaned & disinfected the Aerogarden and potted the tomatoes since they were drawing whiteflies which I couldn't seem to get rid of, even when I was spraying twice a day.  I have now started salad greens.

Salad greens are said to be the fastest and easiest Aerogarden plant, and you harvest the lettuce simply by "giving it a haircut".  Then it grows right back!

Since I have tomatoes and peppers now, growing lettuce will complete my salads!

Upside-down tomato plant

This plant has also been loving the rain.

A great photo op before the harvest
The tomato plants in the Aerogarden are still attracting whiteflies, and even though I spray the plants with the dish soap/water solution TWICE a day, I cannot get these whiteflies under control.  I know the solution kills alot of them because I find the dead ones everywhere - on the plants and on the grow surface).  But they lay eggs and they hatch and the lifecycle continues, and so on, and so on.  Therefore I will be transplanting the tomato plants outside soon and will start something new in the AG (probably salad greens).

Peppers

The two pepper plants (started from seed in the Aerogarden)
are in the back

Right before I picked it

More getting ready!  Now these are actually yellow bell pepper plants.  I don't know what makes them turn yellow.  Maybe they need to stay on the plant longer?  But I picked the big one above which was the same size as a supermarket green pepper.
